Characteristics of the feminized White Widow from Royal Queen Seeds

Although its origins remain shrouded in mystery, we can guarantee that the original White Widow is a Dutch classic, first grown in the Netherlands.

The original White Widow was created when a native Brazilian sativa was pollinated by an indica hybrid from South India. According to legend, WW was the result of years of breeding in the mountains of Kerala to produce marijuana plants so rich in resin.

Since its first appearance in the 1990s, White Widow seeds have been dispersed throughout the world, leading to many variations of the original strain. Now, most seed banks worth their salt contain some version of WW, RQS is no exception to this rule.

At Royal Queen Seeds, our skillful breeders have created our own version of this classic with genetics from White Widow S1. Our strain has an ideal genetic balance between 50% indica and 50% sativa. It sits right in the middle of the spectrum and offers the best of both worlds.

White Widow provides good yields and controllable growth
Our feminized White Widow grows to almost 1 m high indoors, it will reach 2 m outdoors. It will require a lot of light, but can be grown in cooler climates such as France or the United Kingdom and Holland. Indoors, she can offer yields between 450 and 500g/m² under 600W lighting. Outdoors, growers can expect to harvest between 550 and 600g/plant. Although this cultivar performs better in milder climates, it still performs superbly in northern European climates.

White Widow generally finishes flowering after 8-10 weeks, and requires little maintenance. It is the perfect plant for a first crop. Such characteristics also make this plant perfect for growing in SOG or ScrOG.

If not trained, it will produce a large central branch of buds. Although beautiful and impressive, you will get better results with a little training. Top each plant early in the vegetative phase and exploit trellising and defoliation to produce an abundance of bud sites for an open, airy canopy.
